The pocket door kit should have come with door latch hardware. Use screws to secure the lock onto the door. Install the latch hardware. Use shorter nails to install the casing on the pocket side of the door jamb to prevent damage to the door.

Drill a hole and chisel a shallow mortise in that jamb for the strike plate which the door latch engages. Make sure the lock edges slip above the door and slide the lock into its place. Install door casing nailing it to the jamb and to pocket door studs. Once the frame is in place it s time for the pocket door installation.

Make sure the door is still sliding easily on the track and that the latches line up as needed. The lock edges should sit on the door face.
